How did you realize your passion for makeup?
I started really getting into makeup while I was in high school. I remember finding Kandee Johnson and Carli Bybel on YouTube and that is where the obsession with makeup began. I would spend hours after school just sitting in front of my mirror, following their tutorials, playing with makeup and that is really when my love and passion for makeup started!
If you could give advice to someone wanting to do what you do too, what would you say?
Do you manage your account full time or is this something you do on this side? Any tips on how to juggle/ balance everything?
Now I manage my accounts full time, but a few months ago, I was a college student, managing my accounts and another business I own, all while trying to find the time for myself, my fur babies and family. It can be a struggle sometimes so my best advice for someone who is having trouble finding a balance is getting a planner and using it! I will put everything in my planner, even simple things like going grocery shopping but I find that it helps me out tremendously, especially when my weeks are busier than usual!
What are your ultimate goals/ purpose for your channel or account?
My goal is to inspire people and inspire other to have fun with makeup! Makeup is such an awesome creative outlet and I just hope to be able to inspire others, whether it be with the looks I create, making a makeup page of their own, or just sitting down and playing with makeup!
Was there a moment when you realized this could be more than a hobby? Was there even a moment or was it gradual?
It was gradual for me. I started this while I was in college, so college was always my number one priority but once I got closer to graduating, the priorities started shifting and slowly leading me to having this as my full-time job!
What is your favorite look you've ever done?
I love this blue/green/yellow look I did a few months ago using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette and the Fenty Beauty Trophy Wife highlight! It was totally different than anything I had ever done before and was so bold, I loved it!
Where do you find your inspiration? What drives you?
My family. I know that is such a cliché answer but they are my #1 reason for doing everything that I do. Family is everything to me and they are constantly inspiring me to do better, be better and work harder.
Please give one tip for applying strip false lashes!
It took me months to get the hang of them but the more you practice, the easier it becomes! Also, start out with a lighter/more wispy style of lash. Sometimes the big dramatic fluffy ones can be a little hard to work with, so I always recommend the lighter weight ones for beginners!
Other than makeup, what do you do like to do with your free time?
I don’t get that much “free time” because I have a second business, Bailey’s Mission which is an online clothing store promoting rescue animals so if I am not doing makeup stuff, I am working on that which takes up quite a bit of my time. But when I do have 100% free time, I love to watch movies and Netflix. That is my #1 favorite thing to do! I am currently in the middle of watching Black Mirror and I am OBSESSED.
What's one thing you live by? For example, when things get hard or you feel like you're in a slump what do you tell yourself?
I always tell myself that when I am having a bad day because it is so true! You have another opportunity to wake up, kill it and have a great day so I always try to not stress too much when I am having a bad day!
